Affiliate disclosure

LCS Price Map expects to earn money in two ways: featured shop listings, and affiliate links to bullion dealers. Neither is taking payment in this version.

Featured shops

A featured listing is advertising. It changes placement on the city page. It does not change reported prices. No shop is featured yet, and there is no checkout. The inquiry form on the for-shops page only stores a request.

Dealer links

The comparison prices for JM Bullion, SD Bullion, and Money Metals are configured premiums added to spot. They are labeled indicative because they are not live quotes and they are not paid placement. The affiliate programs have not approved this site. Until an approval lands, the dealer name is text, not an affiliate link.

When a program approves a link, the URL comes from an environment variable and the link is marked rel="sponsored". Setting that variable is the only switch. The names and the placeholder premiums live in src/data/online.json.

Reports

Shopper reports are not ads. A shop cannot pay to have a report removed. Corrections go through the error form and a person.
